Our Story
It Started in My Mom's Kitchen.
Created in 2014 by a Nigerian mother. Same beloved dish. Better way to make it.
If you grew up eating moi moi, you know the routine. The soaking, the blending, the folding, and the part nobody talks about, the foil. It took so much time. Standing there, cutting and folding dozens of little pieces of aluminum foil, carefully shaping each one, and hoping they would hold through over an hour of boiling water. Sometimes they did. Sometimes they did not. And when they did not, the food was ruined, the water was contaminated, and all that work was wasted.
My mom was tired of it, so in 2014, she decided to do something about it.
She created the first ever Jesdit Moi Moi Cooking Pouch, a food safe, heat resistant, leak proof stand up cooking pouch designed specifically for cooking moi moi. No more foil falling apart. No more mess in the pot. No more guessing. Just clean, consistent, perfectly cooked moi moi every time.
She did not create it to start a business. She created it to solve a real problem in a practical way. And it worked.
Word spread, because people immediately saw the difference.
I'm Joyce. I joined the business in 2017.
By then, it was already clear that this was bigger than just one product. My mom had built something real, a solution that families were using every single week.
I saw the vision.
I saw how many households, restaurants, caterers, and community events could benefit from something like this. And I knew we had to grow it.
We started with the Moi Moi Pouch, and we are continuing to expand into other cooking solutions like the Seafood Boil Bag and more, because the same principle applies across the foods we love.
Steaming and boiling should be simple, safe, and satisfying.
That is what Jesdit is built on.
